Maybe she thinks people will harass you. I am actually curious--do you still get to keep that 99 score for next year as they promised people without K district programs. Or since you tried for citywide this year will your child have to retest? [ Reply | More

sorry, yes we do keep the 99 score..but what that really means, a bunch of riverdale parents in same boat (also 90-97) are starting to inquire and examine that. [ Reply | More

Well and knowing the DOE you never know what other changes they will make next year...which is why I don't plan to harass you--even though we wanted and didn't get NEST. We live pretty far North in Manhattan and the commute was going to be dreadful for us too and I might have ultimately made the same decision you made. I was lucky enough to have a good district option as third choice and got that so I was spared the conflict. [ Reply | More

No-we had Nest ranked second and our district program 3rd and my husband had actually switched his preference between the two (because he was going to be the one stuck with the crazy pickup schedule--our other child is on the Upper East Side for school) so we were really okay either way. I would have been slightly happier to get Nest, but our current situation is a million times easier logistically. [ Reply | More
