My 6 month old drinks 6 oz of formula 4x and eats breakfast & dinner goes to bed at 7:30. I usually wake her around 10:30 for one last feed. I've waited as long as 12 to see if she wakes on her own but doesn't. She I continue this last feed? I don't want her to wake at 2, 3, or 4 in the morning. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

if her last feed is 10:30, tomorrow, wake her up at 10pm and then subtract 15 mins or 30 depending on how daring you are until that last bottle is maybe an hour after time or right before 7:30... [ Reply | More ]

right, because formula has been shown in so many studies to increase IQ. You're not smart, or stupid, just sad. You're fighting the wrong side of the argument, my friend. [ Reply | More ]

untrue. the only thing with good science behind it is the reduced rate of ear infections and one or two other small things. Not IQ. Not obesity. Read the studies, don't just read the advocacy website. (And yes I nursed my kids.) [ Reply | More ]

Just so sick of judgmental women telling other women how to feed their babies. Especially on this board full of high-achieving, someone anxious women (myself included), we don't need to be mean to one another about what is essentially a private matter. And don't start in about public health being all of our responsibilities--the data doesn't support the whole formula-leads-to-health-problems thing. [ Reply | More ]

Hm. I wouldn't feed my baby something that has "corn syrup solids" in it or half the ingredients of the milk I make in my own body. [ Reply | More ]

can you stop judging. there are many reasons why women don't nurse -- she may be on meds, she may have had both of her breasts removed due to cancer -- and it's NONE of your business. she was asking a question about a sleep routine, so get off your high horse... [ Reply | More ]

NP: don't worry about it. I fed my twins formula from day 1 and they are perfectly healthy. As for your question, just let her sleep and see what happens. 6mo is old enough to sleep until 6am [ Reply | More ]

Can't wait for your kid to discover soda and junkfood. Are you going to control your kids intake for the rest of their life? Get a grip & keep your unrequested opinions to yourself. The OP was asking about a night feeding not the nutritional content of your boob juice! [ Reply | More ]

Let her go - I'll be she goes thru the night. My DB is now almost 8 months, but since she was 6 months old he is asleep by 8:00pm and down until sometime b/t 6:30am and 7:30am. He still occasionally wakes at around 4:30am and I just need to pat him and give him a paci - not a feeding - and he goes right back out (this happens maybe once every week or two - for the most part, he is down for the night). GL! I hope you get a full nights sleep soon! [ Reply | More ]

So she is getting 24oz during the day and then another 6oz around 10? Maybe up her day bottles to 8oz (so you don't worry about her getting enough form.) and then totally let her go at night! try it over a weekend if you are worried about waking at 2,3,4am. Our dd was done with her 1 night feed by 5mo and it seems like your dd might be ready. If she wakes up, let her cry/fuss for 5min, go in pat her back, leave, wait 10min, if still crying, go in pat back, leave, wait 15 min., if still crying go in, etc. with 20, 25, 30min Worked for us, only had to go to the 15min. mark. 10-12hrs of overnight sleep ever since! Good luck! [ Reply | More ]
