Pediatric Dermotologist just called with results of a biopsy he did on my 7mo DS. He said the lumpy growth on his ankle was made up of calcium and bone and that it could be caused by a rare metabolic disorder or a trauma (although that would be a strange reaction to a trauma). DS has had this since he was about 4mo. DOes anyone know what metabolic disorders he could be referring to and if they are serious? He was pretty vague and said that we just need to run some blood tests. I am trying not to freak out but I now wish I had asked for more info and it is too late to call him back. TIA [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

he said he had already called my ped's office to discuss, but my pediatrician is out of town for a month. The dermatologist said that he would call my ped's office to set up the blood tests and call me tomorrow, but I'll be out of it tomorrow b/c I am having a colonoscopy so I will have to leave it up to DH ---UGH FWIW dermatologist said it wasn't cancer [ Reply | More ]

do not go on the internet and search things out if you can help yourself... It will make you crazy and really serve no purpose... [ Reply | More ]
