Whatever you do, not Manhattan Kids Club. I've seen those caregivers in the playground on several occasions. They stand around and chat and pay very little attention to their charges. Yes, so do moms and nannies, but moms and nannies are usually looking after 2 kids at most, not 5. And then when you multiply it by the fact there are 4 or 5 caregivers looking after 4 or 5 kids each, that becomes 16-20 kids running around with little supervision. [ Reply | More ]

we both work, so finding a nanny, and a good one is a viable option. that said, i see dozens of nannies a week walking, at the park, in the elevator, and they're all talking on the phone while the children either stare listlessly into space or worse, scream their heads off. i love day care because at least there are other people around--adults and kids--so they're at least somewhat stimulated.
