having trouble with room sharing. 2 dds in the same room (9mos and 3yrs). How do people do this?! One wake up sets off the other. I'm exhausted, they're cranky. I need help and advice... [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Usually parents (including me) are pleasantly surprised how well one of the kids sleeps through the other's waking up. No idea what to do if they're really waking up each other. The only "trick" I have is to never put them to bed at the same time. I wait until the younger one is sleepign before i put the older to bed. [ Reply | More ]

it takes time, they get used to it. i have an almost 4 yr old & 15 mo old. i thought it was never going to work, but it is fine now. 15 mo old actually cries when he wakes up in the morning if 4 yr old is not there & when i put the older one to bed, he sometimes just lifts his head to see who is coming in & it goes right back down. the 1st year is the hardest...
