What would you do? A coach in my 9 yo ds' little league division flipped out when his team lost a playoff game. Took the team aside and yelled at the kids for 10 mins. Called them names, including a-hole and b-tches. I saw this, the kids repeated what he said. My ds is not on this team, but I want to make sure they never end up with him as a coach. Should I contact league or what? Oh, and coach is a friend of DH's. DH says, "yes, what he did is bad, but we should stay out of it" [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

that is the thing - several parents of the team members saw this and recognize it was wrong, but no one seems inclined to report it. Personally, I am just floored and outraged, but apparently the dads are all saying, "oh, that happened to me when I was a kid, just let it go." [ Reply | More ]

I think it is important to stand up for people that can't defend themselves, otherwise the behavior will repeat. It's not appropriate behavior, not professional, and should be reported. Absolutely write a concerned parent letter- do you want this guy belittling kids? [ Reply | More ]

Don't worry about it, it's kind of human nature in a way. Just do everything you can do and then you won't have anything to regret. Plus, you'll be setting a good example to kids & dh. If it was me, I would talk to ds about why it wasn't ok for the coach to yell obscenities at him & his team. [ Reply | More ]

Similar thing happened in our AYSO soccer league. He was reprimanded, continued the behavior, and asked to leave. I would contact the league. [ Reply | More ]
