omg, I am SOO much happier back at work now. Db is 9mo and i love him to pieces and was so conflicted about going back because I don't "have" to. But he is very happy with his nanny and the whole transition has been like a nonevent to him. Amazing! They really are resilient little creatures. And I'm thrilled to have adult interaction and mental stimulation during the day. Phew. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Hey, I am glad you are happy and that your baby is happy - I believe that you should do what is best for you and your family. Your statement is condescending to SAHMs though so you are going to get a bad reaction. I SAH because it is what is best for me and my family AND I am mentally stimulated (even moreso than when I worked) AND I have adult interaction daily. YOu can't be lazy about it if you SAH, but you can have both. Maybe you should rephrase next time??? [ Reply | More

OR: Cool, I am glad you feel that way - but this is a statement that a lot of people make that is unintentionally insulting - as if all SAH moms are content to use baby talk all day. Trust me - on the "bad" days I yearn to go back to work, but overall I get the stimulation I need and I get to stay at home. I hope that no woman defines herself soley by what she does for a living or motherhood. It is your hobbies and outside interests that make you interesting and complex. [ Reply | More
