We just had this awful tech who did not communicate AT ALL. Her silence scared me. The baby was in a bad position and even though she poked me over and over - the baby wouldn't move - which scared me more. Then she made me eat and come back - which didn't help. She left the room not knowing what to do and came back and said that we could go.... [ Reply | More ]

Sounds like a crappy tech. Write her name down so you can request not to have her at your next ultrasound. [ Reply | More ]

np: where? As much as dw and I hated LICH, the ultrasound department there is awesome! The doctor who runs it Dr. Heratz-Rubenstien is a saint. [ Reply | More ]

didn't the tech have the doctor on staff talk to you afterwards? And if the baby was in an awkward position, the tech should have gone and asked someone for help. [ Reply | More ]

Was this at NY Hopsital-Cornell? I had a horrbible tech for my 20wk. She hardly gave me any info, and then when she told us the sex, just casually mentioned it, and I could barely hear her. And then was annoyed when I asked her to repeat herself. Also told me to eat and drink or I would have to come back the following week if the baby didn't move. As if this was no big deal. She was clearly someone who should not be in the field she's in. [ Reply | More ]

Just tech...and would have had results the next day becasue I went for the bloodwork the week before. But, the Dr was out so I had to wait until the following week. So annoying! [ Reply | More ]

I think I had the same tech as you! She was terrible and wouldn't tell me anything at all after the 12 week scan so I assumed the worst. Thankfully everything was fine when my Dr called with the results. [ Reply | More ]

OP: We had it at St.Lukes/Roosevelt (10th ave). She did go to talk to a Dr. about it but then just came in and said you can go. Just a bad tech, but just makes for bad feelings in general, and when you don't hear positive things from the "professional" in a setting like this, you start thinking negative things and worrying.
