Anyone have trouble having their beta hcg go down after a miscarriage? mine is coming down very very slowly and i am concerned. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

That happened after one of my m/c - I ended up with a D&C to remove remaining tissue that was keeping my numbers elevated. Sorry you're going through this. [ Reply | More

That is what i thought might be happening. I started miscarrying in early May and my numbers just go down by about 5 or 6 each week ( i was 92 and two weeks later i am at 78). thanks - i want to get a second opinion. [ Reply | More

You definitely need a new doctor - that's ridiculous that your doctor is letting this go on for 6 weeks with so little progress (esp. if you are anxious to ttc again). GL. [ Reply | More

Oh, that sounds just awful, I'm sorry. Could the scarring be why you aren't completing the miscarriage? If you aren't already seeing an RE, maybe you should talk with one - it's rare to scar from a D&C, maybe something is going on that they could treat for you. [ Reply | More

I think that you're only options are d&c or wait it out. I'm sorry that this has been such a long process. I had an ectopic last year, and the medication they use to abort it takes at least 4-6 weeks, and it was so hard to think about for that long. [ Reply | More

OR- yes, i have a problem with scarring and a tendency for placenta acreta (overattached placenta). I have seen a lot of doctors... this was an early mc so didn't seem like a big deal - but it is just going on forever. i started the drugs for this cycle in feb. [ Reply | More

Make sure you stop taking your prenatel vitamins. That sometimes help the Beta to go down. [ Reply | More
