The owner of our downtown apt. is selling it so we probably will have to move. We don't want to rent anymore and are looking everywhere in Manhattan and Brooklyn for an apt. My dd will be 3 in November and I let our registration in a downtown preschool lapse because we have no idea what hood we'll be in. I guess I can kiss preschool goodbye. I feel really terrible about this, I think dd is ready to start school. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

We were in a similar situation. Ended up keeping ds at his downtown preschool and commuting by train (his school and my work are very close). Have you considered other non-preschool programs: art, music, dance, swimming? At 3 years, socializing is so important. Maybe you can find a gym with childcare so your dd can socialize.
