OMG, I am moving in 2 weeks. Have a huge deadline at work before I go, a toddler, and I'm 8 mo pg. Will it all get done or will I actually explode first? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

It really helps. I'm not telling you this as a "one up" or to make you feel bad, but the week I went on mat leave my boss stepped down and essentially canceled my position. We moved house 5 weeks after my dd was born. 6 weeks after that, my dh fell and broke his leg that required emergency surgery on Christmas Eve. 3 weeks after that my mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and she died 4 weeks after that. 6 months later my grandfather passed away. 4 weeks after that we bought a new house and moved again! I really, really didn't think I was going to make it through that year, but here we are. A little sad sometimes, a little tired, a whole lot stronger, but mostly happy. You will be too. hire extra help. do you have a cleaner who can come on the weekends and box things up? can you afford a packing service? how about a sitter for sat. and sun to take toddler out to park, so you can pack? can you get your nanny (if you have one) to stay late? any relatives? [ Reply | More
