have the East Village progressive schools done their lottery yet? we're in district 1 and handed in application a long time ago, but still haven't heard anything. does anyone have any info/update about this? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I might also recommend calling the parent coordinator at your desired school; they should be able to tell you. And persistence pays off with these schools. [ Reply | More

No, I mean when you apply to the four progressives, you're supposed to put down EITHER Neighborhood or Earth as your first choice, and EITHER EVCS or CW as your second choice. [ Reply | More

okay, don't fret. I don't mean to freak you out. Someone should have told you that's what people "usually" do. Essentially, putting Neighborhood down as a second choice is like not putting anything down at all, if you kwim. Because they're only going to accept first-choice spots. It's very likely that EVCS or CW will have spaces open if you don't get in to either of your choices. We really love EVCS. it's a great school. [ Reply | More

thanks. i wish i'd known this before putting down our choices. (sigh) will hope for the best. fwiw, i just looked at the copy of the app. and we did put CW as our 3rd choice so maybe there's some hope there.
