We got a call from the principal of PS 11. This is our 3rd choice. I can't decide if we take the spot or go to our zoned school PS. 3 gen. ed. DC is very bright, verbal, artistic. Which do you think the better choice? TIA. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Coming from a Montessori, I personally dislike the mixed age classroom aspect. The older kids just aren't good at leading by positive example; it's more like, "You're a baby and you're doing it wrong." [ Reply | More

we are in the same boat, zoned for 116. but i love ps11. it was also our 3rd choice after A&N, i think their G&T program is better than 116's. Art focus is great. I will definitely take the spot, and I always have a great zoned gen ed as a safety net. [ Reply | More

PS 11 current parent here. We love the school, mostly because of the principal who's really amazing. There are great teachers, it's a nice facility, and it reflects the diversity of nyc, which for us is a big selling point. Also know lots of kids who go on to great schools. Lab, Salk, etc. and I think it will get stronger and stronger. Love it there. Good Luck. [ Reply | More
