Do you think that the way a parent talks to and about their child shapes who the child becomes. I overheard a woman calling her ds (2-3 years old), "lazy" and "dim," but using affectionate tones. Will this hurt the child's identity? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

"identity"... not sure what that means. but of course it hurts self esteem. labeling kids is definitely considered a no-no these days. they say you should focus on behavior instead, rather than the child's character. [ Reply | More ]
