I would say maybe a 4 yr old would be into that, but not a 6 year old. [ Reply | More ]

My 5 yo just finishing K is into books. #1 thing. If he isn't reading them he is creating them. Give him ten blank pieces of paper, folded, a stapler and some pencils/markers/crayons and he's good for hours. He and every boy his age I know of would also love one of those remote control cars. Poster just above. Good one. Or binoculars! We have that microscope which connects to tv. IMO, 5 is too young for that. [ Reply | More ]

ok, then any water toy would be fun (water balloons, sprinkler thing), anything for beach, bubbles, balloon rockets. You could give a book on pirates, you could give a pirate ship playset, you could give anything Hulk if you think mom will take child to the movie. Pokemon cards are sometimes a hit, transformers, anything fun for mom/dad and child like a badmitten set - or lawn bowling. Just go look around toy store. [ Reply | More ]

As a mom of a k-boy I would add: mini-trampoline for Sears ($30); moon shoes; Sponge Bob/Hulk/Transformers; soccer; fun sprinkler for lawn; bike paraphenalia. [ Reply | More ]

K dad here: I would not be happy if you gave my kid a trampoline without asking me first. Huge ER patient supplier... I think it is second only to cars and bagels. (Some Sunday morning go to the ER and count the people with gashes in their left palm.) [ Reply | More ]

If your 6 y.o. cannot handle a trampoline 8" off the floor then you need physical therapy not an emergency room. [ Reply | More ]

Hey Einstein, how high off the ground are kids wearing in-line skates? How about skateboards? [ Reply | More ]

You are seriously comparing a mini-trampoline to a skateboard? I know dads like you - you've got your children in bike helmets while they take a bath. [ Reply | More ]
