i have mixed feelings. teachers talk about how the long summer break makes kids forget so much stuff, so they spend the first 3 months of the school year backtracking...but i also think kids need long summer afternoons to read and play and get bored and come up with creative things to do. now that schools are anti-creative, summer seems much more precious. disagree. two plus months of vacation is sufficient. we work full time -- dd goes to camp through mid-august, then we take a two week vacation. perfect. [ Reply | More
