Driving vacation. We're staying overnight in Phillie w/dh and 5 and 2 1/2 yo. Need recs for kid friendly but nice hotel in town and something to do w/dc in town. Same questions also for Virginia Beach (is it dumb to do an overnight in Va Beach?) [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

is there another stop you could pick? DW and I have this vacation thing we do each spring. She takes a map of the East Coast, closes her eyes and picks a city. We find a hotel nearby with an indoor pool and check out that little part of the world. We do the hokey local stuff. Each time we are pleasantly surprised. [ Reply | More ]

Stay in the Rittenhouse Sq/Broad St area. Walkable to all the museums, Society Hill, the Sq is great. There are a bunch of hotels on Broad St. [ Reply | More ]

If you have a generous budget, the Four Seasons is wonderfully kid friendly and has an indoor pool. Frankon Instiute is right near there as well. Walk around in the Olde City/Society Hill Area ....historical stuff. [ Reply | More ]
