moving at the end of the month, in denial about leaving nyc, anyone have any positive stories if you were freaking about leaving? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

We moved out for the schools, and I was worried about not having the park, museums, etc. But here we have a backyard, and there are still parks and museums we can go to if we want. All in all, I'm really glad we moved. I think it's mostly about having realistic expectations and being positive. [ Reply | More

I did this 2 years ago. You get used to it and get into new routines. I see good things about the burbs and bad but had the same with the city. It is what you make of it. I find it tough to meet people since db is not in school yet so we are a little bored but it will all come together. [ Reply | More

i was freaking and honestly first 6 months were tough, and i still miss many things about nyc, but there are great things about having a yard, a slower pace, good schools etc. it's hard to know until you try it, sorry to say. seems like all of us in this boat should be able to learn from one another, but seems like it's different for everyone. you'll miss the walking, i guarantee that.
