I found an ex boyfriend on facebook the other day and we have sent a few emails back and forth, I can't shake the feelings I used to have for him that are re-surfacing- even though we broke up almost 15 years ago, today it is feeling like it happened last week and the pain of our break- and how much I miss him is so fresh that I feel like crying. I am happily married with two kids but clearly I have never gotten over him - I think I need therapy. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

are you having any issues in your marriage? I find that I tend to think about exes when my currect relationship is in trouble - even mild trouble like maybe a little boring etc [ Reply | More ]

he is always in the back of my mind but never has been in the forefront until this facebook connection. Now all of a sudden he is all I can think about. His facebook page is a great representation of him and all the things I loved about him and has only made me feel like he was really my soulmate and I totally screwed it up. I am pretty sure he does not have the same feelings about me- not that I am prepared to do anything about it anyway. My DH & kids are way too important to me to do mess up all of our lives that way but it makes me very sad to feel like he was the one! [ Reply | More ]

I went through something similar a while ago. He just got remarried and for some reason, that seems to have put a stop to it. All I can tell you is not to let it consume you. There is no such thing as a soul mate. There are many people we could all be happy with to some degree. Feel the feelings you have and let them go. Make sure you continue to focus on your DH and kids and how they are so important to you. Try and see if he represents something else in your life that you are missing - freedom, some pursuit you let fall by the wayside etc. [ Reply | More ]

i just went through the same thing. i googled my x and found hundreds of pictures of him with girlfriend traveling around the world. she looked just like me. they even had pictures together in the same rainforest that we were in. I love my husband too but he was definitely the safe choice and i wonder what it would have been like if i'd dared to stay with the other. [ Reply | More ]
