Do you have any idea how long you will wait in the ER for a bug bite? Unless there are other symptoms like fever etc it's kind of insane. I guess you could call ped in AM. [ Reply | More ]

The ER is for people with gun shot wounds, heart attacks, unstoppable bleeding, poisoning etc!!! [ Reply | More ]

If only this were true. State of medicine now is that ER is for a lot of routine care. I had pneumonia and my dr sent me to the ER. There were no beds available, so he couldn't simply admit me to the hospital. [ Reply | More ]

ITA, except it sounds like your doc knew you would need to be admitted and was trying to make it happen as efficiently as possible. Different than looking at a red foot. [ Reply | More ]

If it looks like a bulls eye, is weeping, or there is any sort of an allergic reaction (hives, throat swelling, etc) see a doctor ASAP. Otherwise, call. [ Reply | More ]

I'd call ped first and run it by him/her. If they think you should go to the ER then you can, oterhwise it's best to avoid it. [ Reply | More ]
