my sweet little 4 year old is going through big changes. she has a little brother who is now just over two and suddenly it seems difficult for them to get on. They seems to fight a lot. She is very nurturing -but he is not really the type to want to be nurtured more action man -running around like crazy wanting what she has and trying to grab it etc. He is fun and mischief. She is fun in a different way and likes to play detailed complicated games with her dolls. the other day she was playing by herself and he came up I don't know exactly what happened but next minute he was crying and had two scratches (drawing blood) on his arm. I was so, so shocked. She insisted that she didn't do it and that he had done it to himself. She has never lied to me before -and even after giving her the truth talk and then even the following morning she denied doing it... I don't even know what to do. Anyone been through this - how do you encourage peaceful play etc... Is it just a matter of getting through it. Maybe she is worried about starting big school but doesn't know how to express it.... ahh! so many things it could be, so many ways to dicipline -how do we ever get it right?? sure, but not that kind of lie. If he scratched himself on a toy, he's unlikely to make up that his sister did it, unless he heard OP say so first. [ Reply | More ]
