So, aside from siblings, it seems like in Manhattan Klein got what he wanted - seems like anyone (for the most part) with less than a 95 didn't get a placement they would take or didn't get placed at all. Hence - 95 threshold. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I think lowering the threshold was done mainly for the benefit of dc in bad districts where the general ed options are truly bad, and even a so-so G&T would be a big step up. [ Reply | More ]

I think by lowering it to 90, the undesirable G&Ts had a shot at attracting more kids in order to stay open.90-94 kids no shot at desirable G&Ts. [ Reply | More ]

I don't buy this theory. I think Klein tried to give MORE children seats. Not less. If parents didn't want them, there is nothing he can do. [ Reply | More ]
