Worried my DS age 4 may have gross motor delay or that cluminess disorder. How do I get him evaluated? He doesn't ride a trike and still does stairs one foot at a time. Legs covered with bruises from playing all day at school on playground. He falls down/trips everywhere over nothing... Thought it was shoes, but suddenly worried. tia [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

You should be able to get a free eval through your local school district. If you are in NY, that's called CPSE, Committee on Preschool Special Education. Ask for a PT and OT eval, and while you're at it if you have any other concerns, ask for speech/psychological too (easier to do it all at once and while ds is still young). You can also set up an appointment with a developmental pediatrician. Where are you located? [ Reply | More ]

That's D2, right? Call the D2 CPSE office. Most of the people who work there are really nice. Request an eval packet and then you'll set up an appointment. It's all free. Are you seeing any other delays or signs that concern you? [ Reply | More ]
