My boss wants to take me out to lunch to celebrate 4 yrs with the org. Problem is, I'd rather work & not waste time hearing fluff. The org is kind of going under & I don't need a 'motivational' speech. Can I get out of it or do I have to go? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Just go. If the company is having trouble you don't want to risk offending the boss! [ Reply | More ]

She's more afraid of losing me. She's my age and acts more like a colleague than a leader. I just don't want to sit through an hour of talk when I could be getting something done. [ Reply | More ]

I still can't see an easy way out of this. Sounds like you won't be having a fun time though. [ Reply | More ]

Yeah, I guess I have to suck it up. When I do leave, I want to go gracefully, so perhaps this is part of being graceful. I just hate bs. [ Reply | More ]
