Need Advice-I have a baby shower today with the in-laws. The problem is the baby is premature. She arrvied May 31st-5 weeks early and is under 4lbs. Everyone is expecting us to bring her to the baby shower today which we decided we would. I'm just afraid she's too fragile to be passed around to all the relatives not to metion the germs. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but If I let one person hold her everyone is going to want to hold her. I want to protect my baby because I think she's to fragile. What would you do? Am I being over protective? Let me know your thoughts. Thank you [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

actually, she can just lie and say that ped didn't want db to be passed around or out in public too much since so medically fragile. well, it isn't really a lie, since the ped most likely thinks this [ Reply | More ]

also, and yes, I am a little disjointed today. but, it is hard enough being a new parent and having a db born so early can be nerve wracking. trust your instincts-you know best. someone told me that when my db was born (who wasn't premature but I was an anxious mom), and it was the best advice-you do know best. gl and congrats on new db [ Reply | More ]

"Soory, the ped said not to have around so many people." Did you ask your ped? Go with your gut. [ Reply | More ]

If it was me I would take the baby ONLY if I was sure she wouldn't be handed around. Go with your gut and don't get pressured into anything you feel uncomfortable about. [ Reply | More ]
