Not everyone loses weight while Breat Feeding, Right? I mean, I hope that I do, but I feel thats just wishful thinking and I will be one of the few who holds onto the weight while I breast feed. Normal weight to begin with 5'3, 115-120, now at 31 weeks I've gained 27 lbs. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

SEE! I always hear how breast feeding sucks that fat right off, but clearly it doesn't do it for everyone. [ Reply | More ]

Actually you do lose weigh faster than if you didn't - that said it is not a magic bullet - if you always lost weight slowly you won't shed it in six week just by breastfeeding [ Reply | More ]

Exactly! You burn thru what an extra 2,000 calories a day bfing? I got so used to that it was the shock of my like when I weaned and immediately put on the pounds! [ Reply | More ]

I have to say, I lost a ton of weight while breast feeding. I lost 28 lbs in 3 weeks while breast feeding. But, I'm not thin to begin with, so maybe that has something to do with it. [ Reply | More ]

I breastfed for about a month and saw my stomach go down every single day. I did eat a lot more during that time, but I have never had food issues, so after stopping I went back to my former eating habits pretty easily. It's an individual experience and depends on how your body was and your eating habits were before getting pregnant. Good luck, and stay hydrated. Don't worry about how much you're eating while breastfeeding, either-your body needs the calories not just to produce the milk but to keep your energy up. Breastfeeding is a physically demanding thing, and not just b/c the baby is on your breast all the time. Producing and giving the milk takes a ton of energy. [ Reply | More ]
