My friend's ds is 22 months and can name all the Thomas trains. Mine can barely speak at 23 months. Should I be worried? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Boys tend to talk late. Your friend's son is way ahead. Not to worry! [ Reply | More ]

you might want to have him checked by a speech therapist. They are wonderful, paid for by the state, and it couldn't hurt. It does sound like your friend is way advanced though. [ Reply | More ]

some kids talk sooner than others. also, some kids are quieter than others. think about it -- you know strong, silent types and big loud mouths... [ Reply | More ]

I don't think naming Thomas trains is really all that great IMO, that being said at 23 months they should have a lot of words. I totally agree that some kids are just quiet and don't need to say much (count you blessings) but sometimes it can be an issue that can be solve with therapy sooner than later. Good lucK!
