What is there to handle (unless she left the needle somewhere the baby could get it)? [ Reply | More ]

Just say, "We found this and are curious about it." Her health really is her own private business, but OTOH, I would want to be reassured that she is healthy enough to do what can be a very physically demanding job. [ Reply | More ]

It would be ILLEGAL to fire her over this and you would be an asshole. Has she shown any reason for you to believe she cannot care for child? [ Reply | More ]

OR Calm down. No one is suggesting the nanny be fired. But someone who has to monitor her blood sugar several times a day--if in fact that is what this woman is doing--could be in an advanced stage of the disease, and that would concern me. [ Reply | More ]

I can't reply to the post below, but that is ridiculous. Diabetics in all stages of the disease monitor their blood sugars regularly. [ Reply | More ]

NP -- you can fire someone over anything if as an employer you don't fall under the umbrella of title 7 regulation. Hate when people say stupid stuff like that. Not to mention the fact that she's probably illegal and/or being paid under the table. [ Reply | More ]
