it's about setting and maintaining limits, with consequenses for crossing the line. most offenses get 2 warnings (1 - 2 counts), then a time out for a 3rd. most serious offenses get automatic time outs. consequenses don't have to be time outs (taking away stuff also works, but parents don't get to have temper tantrums (no screaming, yelling or hitting). worked well for my 4 y/o. It worked wonders for us. I mean it, they don't call it magic for nothing. Started at 20 mo for a very strong-willed boy and still using it at 5 yo when necessary. [ Reply | More
