It's not set up so parents get to spend time with their kids and have jobs--part time jobs don't pay enough and there aren't enough to make it possible. i have a PT job that barely pays enough to cover the childcare. but it's worth it to me to stay in my field and get out of the house and do my own thing part of the week. i wouldn't take a FT job for more money b/c i want the time with my 2 dc. (and we don't need it financially) [ Reply | More

not necissarily true. We are working on incorperating the 4/20 work week, or the 9/80 work week, day care at work, and p/t work with benifits. I am in the bio medical device industry. [ Reply | More

I'm a single mom, so I could only do the part-time job if it paid as well as a full-time job. I would really try for something in between. A full-time job does not nec. require someone to be away from home for 11 hours a day. (I'm away from ds for 9 hours a day.) [ Reply | More
