next door neighbor was an mortgage and financial analyst - think he worked at either JPMorgan or Bank of America - has been out of work since mid-April - in his mid30s with 2 kids and one on the way - curious to know what his severance package was - they spend money like crazy! It will depend on if it was a voluntary separation or not (a lot of the banks are offering voluntary packages so they don't have to fire as many people), how long he worked for them and a lot of other factors. He could have gotten as much or more than a year's salary (w/o bonus) in his package, along with outplacement services, continued health coverage, etc. [ Reply | More
