WWYD: I am a teacher and applied for a position at a private school. I really got a great vibe from the school (esp as compared to nyc doe) but they are SO disorganized.. throughout the entire interview process it was just complete disorganization. I let it go, bc I know that all schools can be pretty disorganized. Then, they told me at the interview that I would make a certain amount of money, and when they gave me the offer it was 10k less. They said "they just couldn't give me what they wanted to"- then why would THEY have said (I did not bring up salary!) that they would have given me the higher number ??? Is this sketchy? Wouldn't take the job at the school unless you are desperate. Bad sign. I once took a job (not teaching) with similar issues and I was miserable the whole time. [ Reply | More
