Plan to leave dh and have job opportunity that will help provide financial means to get out. I want dd to live with me but the problem is I will often have to leave for work at 5:30am. I really don't want dd to go back and forth from his place to my place and even if I have to leave for work super early, I'll still be home more often for dd. What are the odds I'll find a sitter willing to come to my place at that hour? Anyone btdt? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Where are you? You can almost always find someone to do a job. You would definitely have to pay for transportation at that hour. You would probably do better with live-in help if you have room. [ Reply | More ]

Is there any way your living arrangements could accomodate a live-in nanny? or could you move to a 3 BR apt? [ Reply | More ]

I don't know that I'll make enough $ for a 3rd bedroom but I'm going to look. Anyone done the live-in thing? There will be a lot of times when I am at home. Don't know how I'll like having some one else always around. [ Reply | More ]

I feel the same (I posted above), but it really is the only practical way to have someone at your place at 5:30 in the morning. It's sometimes possible to find someone to live in Monday through Friday, but then you have to pay more since you are not taking care of board for her. [ Reply | More ]

my brother and SIL do, and it works for them, but they have 3 kids in 3 different schools (not NYC), he travels a lot and she teaches some night classes (college prof), so they need help at odd hours [ Reply | More ]
