I like to keep 2yo dd as close to regular schedule as possible on the weekends when we see ILs but they seem to think it's ridiculous - they make fun of me in their passive aggressive way when I make an attempt to give dd a nap or get her to bed by 7:30/8pm. Anyone btdt? Dh gets silent around his family on this subject even though he supports it at home. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

You are the Mom. If visiting them is a rare event then it's good to be flexible but if it's regular then you should stick to your routine. They are lucky you visit at all! [ Reply | More ]

My dh's entire family is like this. It's a constant struggle. I've learned to let the schedule relax a little when the in-laws are around but dd usually melts down in their presence at some point. They don't get that it's the stimulation of having them in her face and the variance on the routine. Fortunately, they're not around too much. [ Reply | More ]
