Poll: How much per is your dc's class collecting for end of year teacher gift, and what is the gift? Also private or public? For us, $130 for private preschool (three classroom teachers and three enrichment teachers) [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Private nursery school. Collected $30 per family (14 DC in class) for 3 classroom teachers. Gave cash gift and craft by DC. (It's an affluent school and many people -- including me -- would have liked to give more, but $30 is the school rule.) [ Reply | More

class parent won't tell anyone how much she has decided to give, mostly because she doesn't want to give very much. takes from class fund, but doesn't say how much. have never heard of such a thing before. very crazy! [ Reply | More
