Great! Did you tutor? Did the school do a good job of teaching math? What district are you in? [ Reply | More ]

many in D2 seem to think that D2 math (terc?) doesn't prepare kids well enough... they get 4's but don't get into their first choice middle schools without tutoring. [ Reply | More ]

Isn't admission based on 4th grade scores? If so, what do you mean they don't "get in" without tutoring? [ Reply | More ]

np: Good 4th grade scores just make you eligible to apply. Some good MSs have their own tests for admission on top of that. [ Reply | More ]

Math and ELA, and math scores are generally higher than ELA as it tends to be easier test for most kids. [ Reply | More ]

Don't all the publics use terc in d2? Everyone should be on the same footing then [ Reply | More ]

np. Most D2 schools use TERC, but not all of them. [ Reply | More ]

Absolutely right!!! The TERC program will (not soon enough) will go down in history as not only a mistake but a a crime against many NYC sschoolkids. [ Reply | More ]
