Anyone been to Hershey Park? I have 2 boys 4 and 2.5. Worth it to travel from NYC? Which hotel did you stay in? dumpy or upscale? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I considered it for same aged boys but we also have a baby so we decided on renting a beach house instead. I heard it was cheesy but kids enjoy it. I also remember something about staying 1/2 hour away in Philly or Princeton (can't remember where) b/c it's a lot nicer. [ Reply | More ]

I've been there many times. Admission is a bit expensive, but they have many kids rides (little kids) that are perfect for your kids. And, those rides tend to be less crowded, so don't have the long wait. Also, there's now a gigantic water park -- I saw it last time, but didn't go, so don't know how that is for younger kids, but it was packed. Hershey Motor Lodge is okay, get most of the Hershey Hotel amenities. If you can afford the Hershey Hotel itself, it's very fancy. The lodge is still expensive, but less so. Lots of chains around, and they are fine -- the usual. [ Reply | More ]

^^^you can also do the factory tour, as or mentioned, and there's a museum with a pretty good children's room as well and botantical gardens have a wonderful "children's garden". So there's plenty to do besides the park itself. [ Reply | More ]

I went when I had just turned 3 and still remember it. It was one of my favorite places I went as a child. I really can't remember why now, we didn't do that much. I think I just liked the street lights shaped like kisses, riding on a ride in a hershey bar shaped car, and getting to eat a really huge ice cream sundae. I also went to Sesame Street Park and it was equally legendary in my mind. [ Reply | More ]
