Why are biweekly appointments needed in the third trimester, assuming a normal, healthy pregnancy? Switched providers at 30 weeks and they scheduled my next appointment 4 weeks from my last. Trying to decide if it's worth it to make a stink. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

You want to sit in a waiting room every other week when things are just fine? If no reason to worry, why go so often? [ Reply | More ]

I don't want to. I posted because I want to know why the norm is to schedule every two weeks. Even my former crunchy midwife saw a value in it. [ Reply | More ]

Ah, I think it's CYA. At that point all they really are looking for is BP and protein in the urine. [ Reply | More ]

I suspect you're right. I just have a tendency toward cynicism when it comes to doctors, so I'm trying to actually consider the reasons before I blow them off =). [ Reply | More ]

Well, I'm 31 weeks pg and my doctor scheduled my next appointment 4 wks from my last. I wouldn't worry about it, esp if you are having a healthy pregnancy. Good luck! [ Reply | More ]
