what are OLSATS, ERBs? When do kids take them? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I don't know because we went public route, no G&T....you can do a search, but I think erb is for private, olsat is for G&T, then there's another one for Hunter/Anderson. kids take them when they're 4...but like I said you don't have to bother with any of it if you're planning on public and not trying for a G&T program [ Reply | More ]

Anderson is a G&T school, so you need to take the OLSAT and score 97% or above to qualify (realistically, you need a 99% to qualify, at least this year). Hunter is open to the public, but run by Hunter College and they use a different test, the Stanford-Binet. The ERBs are for privates. [ Reply | More ]

sb is a classic IQ test. OLSAT is also an aptitude test, not exactly IQ, but loosely considered that. it is given to all public school students in some grades in many states, CT included. the scores people are discussing(97, 99) are the percentiles, not actual scores. [ Reply | More ]
