never said it was an obvious choice, but nonetheless, it's a decision you make. [ Reply | More ]

can you get back into your field after a few yrs? I can't so I'm staying put until they kick me out! This way I can bank the money while there is still money to make. if you can easily pick up in 3 yrs where you left off then I'd think about staying home. [ Reply | More ]

It depends on what you want then. How much are you willing to give up? If you want to go back to work in 3 years, is that possible? [ Reply | More ]

um, for just a temporary setback I'd stay home for a few years. I'd give anything to be able to re-enter the workforce under the same or similar situation. You can't put a price on the bond you'll have with your LO. good luck w/ your decision. [ Reply | More ]

now but thurs and fri afte work my dd take some time to reconnect with me. She prefers our nanny to me when I get home from work at first. Its heartbreaking but I keep telling myself that some day she'll understand that it isn't my choice. if it is your choice, try to avoid the heartbreak' [ Reply | More ]

it means they are used to a lifestyle. they make decent money now, probably enough for her to stay home. clearly they won't be in the same economic bracket if she stays home, but they won't be on food stamps either. So you make your choice. Simple as that. [ Reply | More ]

I think it's also a big deal in that you are totally giving up your financial independence. That would bother me. [ Reply | More ]
