First baby coming soon. I am sure all our friends are going to want to come meet him/her ASAP, but many of our friends have kids around 6 months old. Should we try to discourage other babies (not related to us) in the apt for a while for DB's health? I don't want to offend our friends of course... What's the best approach here? Relax and just have parents wash their hands before holding. [ Reply | More ]

Just tell them you are not up to visits yet. I totally agree with you. All of my friends with kids visited without them for a few minutes after the baby was a month or so old. My first child was very sick, so I think everyone got used to being careful and was like that with our others. [ Reply | More ]

babies are nto your porblem...sick adults and sick toddlers are. Have a handwashing rule and tell kids who are old enough to care "we only touch babies feet." [ Reply | More ]

Unless their child is sick, I wouldn't have a problem with a 6 month old. The bigger problem is older kids who want to touch all over the baby. [ Reply | More ]

I hope you don't have friends who are STUPID enough to bring their sick kids to your home no matter when. I hate when ppl do this. I have 2 dds and never once visited a friend with her newborn while bringing my own dc along. I always leave the kids home. I know someone who posted a note on the door, please do not enter if you are sick..also please wash hands before touching baby. I wouldn't do that but I do tell my family to wash hands before handling the newborn [ Reply | More ]
