my dd is 2y 6m. she wants to use her pacifier still parts of the day, only at home. i'm worried she's too reliant on this, but don't want to take away if she needs for comfort. any suggestions? thanks. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Tell her it is only for nap time and bed time and keep it in her crib. [ Reply | More ]

try having a talk with her about how pacifiers are for babies, and that it's time to let it go. Then have a "ceremony" in which you somehow get rid of it formally. Someone once recommended tying it to a balloon and letting it float away... but that's not very eco-friendly. We did a similar thing w/bottles w/my ds, and I thought it would be so hard, and I was Shocked at how well he took it. [ Reply | More ]
