Is anyone else at NEST concerned about their children in the fall when all the construction noise & asbestos exposure starts at Nest? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

eh, no. It is temporary. Not concerned about the asbestos because asbestos abatement is a pretty safe thing nowadays. [ Reply | More ]

If you lived in a "Levitt" home your shingles were asbestos, if you were born before 1970's your mom's oven mitts were asbestos, if you were near cars before the mid eighties their brake pads were asbestos, etc... Is it good that we are not using it anymore in consumer applications, yes. Is the hype warranted, no! [ Reply | More ]

Asbestos when left in piece in the walls, for example, is safe. Asbestos becomes a health hazard when it is disturbed like during construction. And that sure might be a concern for some when NEST starts its renovations. That said, modern asbestos abatement is pretty safe so I would not be worried. [ Reply | More ]

not concerned at all , and hoping we're there to see it first-hand. Do any current NEST parents know what they're doing with the project? [ Reply | More ]
