BFed #1 but he was in the NICU for his first few weeks of life and was tube and then bottle fed there, so he bascially started the bottle as soon as he was able to eat. Pg with #2 and wondering when you're supposed to introduce a bottle? Will be bfing but pumping too and going back to work. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

start as soon as possible - I'm the below post and we started at 1 month and I'm afraid that it was too late - now he won't take a bottle. [ Reply | More ]

I don't believe in nipple confusion (I think the bf'ing nazis made it up) so I would start from the beginning to avoid them not taking a bottle. [ Reply | More ]

OP: Yeah, my ds was a pretty good nurser once we got home despite the bottles and binky they gave him. So start in the first week? [ Reply | More ]

You can start pumping as soon as your milk comes in and nursing is well established. I started pumping one bottle a day after about 10 days pp so that DH could give DB a bottle in the evenings. There was never any nipple confusion. [ Reply | More ]
