i don't know why i'm bothering with my sob story when no one is here. but here goes. i think i am increasingly prone to depression. i never had this problem before dcs. at least i never noticed a problem. i am fairly anti-pharmaceuticals and didn't have much time for therapy so i worked very hard at just slowly working my way through it. now i think the depression is back and i'm just tired of working through it. i just want to throw up my hands and just ignore it all and i'll just sink into whatever pit i'm sinking into. I think you need re-evaluate your pharmaceuticals stance. Your children need you to not be hiding under the covers. (I was really worried about having to stay on drugs forever, but my psych weaned me off after 6 months to see how I was doing. Knock wood, it's been 6 years and I've been good.) [ Reply | More ]

You dont get a medal for not taking the drugs - there is no extra credit for using the "crutch" [ Reply | More ]

i'm on effexor and wellbutrin -- honestly, it makes me a better person to be around... i don't love the idea, but if i had cancer and there was a drug that could help me, i would take it. depression is an illness and should be treated as such... it's not a crime or something to be ashamed of... i guess. that's a good point, to consider it to be a real illness. i'm starting to strongly think that i should at least speak to a therapist about this. i worked so hard to pull myself out of it last time adn the thought of doing it all over again is just too much for me. [ Reply | More ]
