DH freaked out this morning. 1 yo DS has been very cranky lately. Crying and crabby and generally a pain in the butt. DH freaked out this morning and said he couldn't take the crying anymore, he couldn't take it. We then proceeded to argue about it, and my point was DS is a baby and what would he like me do exactly? Then DH left for work. Honestly I have never seen him like this, I am actually afraid he may not come or home or when he does he says he is leaving or something. Anyone else BTDT? Or have any advice. yes, been there. he'll come home. and he's being a baby. but my advice: coddle him through it and don't get into an argument with him until he's in the clear. he's probably exhausted, stressed, etc and he just needs to come out the other side. so help him with that. then... when he's strong, have the discussion where you tell him to grow up, be realistic, etc. i dunno, you might have to be superhuman to do that, and yo'ure probably tired etc yourself. i just know from my own experience (i always fight in the moment) that he might just need you to soothe him [ Reply | More ]

np: I don't think OP should pick a fight with him, but I think coddling him just reinforces this behavior. Why can't she just wait and see if he's over it? If he is, it's over. If he continues acting like this, she has to confront him about it. [ Reply | More ]

I'm sorry. Has he seemed unhappy lately in general, or was this just a small breakdown? [ Reply | More ]

Being a first time dad scared the shit out of me. (I don't think I ever really acted like a douche to my dw but everyone is different.) If this is unlike him, just ask him what is up. [ Reply | More ]
