It's just her first 2 wks, so I'm not blaming her or anything, but she keeps posting misinformation and isn't updating the blog comments enough for up to date info. [ Reply | More ]

The DOE is not very forthcoming and has changed its mind/procedures every five minutes during the last couple of weeks! I think she's doing a good job considering, posting several times a day, checking comments frequently. Don't rely on people who post comments on the blog though. [ Reply | More ]

I know, and I don't even know if she's paid! A thankless job. Still, this morning's blog opening ("With news reaching parents on g+t kindergarten placement and middle schools, some of the furor of the past week or so seems to have fizzled. ") I'm sure flipped out many people across the city, and it was the 3rd time this week that it's been posted that parents have been getting placement info. [ Reply | More ]

DOE says g&t letters are going out this week, so news will reach parents soon. Middle school letters already started arriving. G&T is such a tiny portion of what InsideSchools covers, it affects a very small % of public school parents. [ Reply | More ]

I can't reply to that last post about this morning's blog opening, but I had the same reaction when I initially read it. It was a little careless b/c it suggested that letters have actually gone out. Which does not appear to be true. [ Reply | More ]

I was speaking with N. Rosen at G & T the other day & I said that it said, such and such on Inside Schools & she quipped that it wasn't a DOE site. I said, but at least it is posting SOME info. -- she got my point. I have got that before from DOE. If you can't do your job somebody else is gonna try whether it is accurate or not. [ Reply | More ]

Responding to N Rosen post above - I think InsideSchools is a watchdog on the DOE... some DOE people have even posted there saying it is often MORE accurate than the DOE's own website! [ Reply | More ]
