I need some stroller advice....So, db will be born in early december. We live in Brooklyn and have a car, which we use on weekends only. What do I need? (I have a 5yo but lived in the south until he was 3yo, and everything was given away). Let's say I bought a Quinny Buzz (not saying I am). Would I need both the bassinet attachment and a Maxi Cosi car seat? Neither? I'm really confused, to be honest. The winter, the rocky streets, etc. are throwing me off, and I've forgotten at what point I'll trade the whole thing in for a lightweight stroller (or don't you in NYC?) Please don't flame...I don't want to over buy.... [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

we never did the bassinet. Started with a "regular" stroller with full recline. Found it easier to use on the subway etc. and has grown with db. We're in Manhattan without a car so portability was important to us. Hope that helps. [ Reply | More ]

Ditto here. #1 was born i December in the city. I used an Inglesina Zippy from the beginning. That summer I also got (through the Urbanbaby "Garage Sales" actually), a lighter-weight stroller (Inglesina Swift, similar to the Mac Triumph) that I used for going on the LIRR to ILs, or if I was going to do a lot of on/off the subway/bus around the city. I like our Peg Venezia. It starts as a bassinet that can be zipped up and warm, then switches to a regular sit up stroller when db gets older. It has a large basket, cup holder, snack tray...everything we wanted. We did get a second light, umbrella stroller for travel though. [ Reply | More ]
