ugh, hate father's day now. My father died three years ago, and I still miss him terribly (his birthday is June 16 too, so it's a double whammy in June). I still think of him all the time, how he never knew his latest grandchild, how he's missed seeing them grow, and how they missed out on knowing a wonderful grandpa. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I'm so sorry. My DH's mother (who I adored - best MIL on the planet) passed away 6 weeks after our DS was born and it's just such a colossal shame. We feel everything you just described. Of course it will get better, but it's OK that we acknowledge that it will never be the same, I think. So sorry again. [ Reply | More
