if i told dh "nothing extravagant" fo rmy bday and he got me relatively expensive jewelry, i woudl like it, but i think i'd also be upset if it was actually extravagant. woudl so much rather time to myself for a bit and then a dinner or party in my honor. something to show he made an effort and to put me in the center of attention a bit.
